The first spray is bright and spiced: cardamom, lemon and pink pepper, with incense, juniper berry and a soft note of tea behind them. The heart turns floral, orris and lily of the valley beside rose and jasmine. In the drydown, oud, musk and tonka warm the skin, with cashmere, ambergris and patchouli adding depth.

Rich and confident, it is made for the colder months and for evening wear. Rated at eight to ten hours, it suits formal dinners, celebrations and late gatherings in autumn and winter. A small amount goes a long way; apply to the neck and wrists and let it develop.
