Fortnight

The first spray is herbal and bright: lavender and chamomile with nutmeg flower, lifted by lemon, bergamot and mandarin orange, with hawthorn and cedar behind. The heart grows woodier: sandalwood and violet leaf with nutmeg, then jasmine, carnation, lily-of-the-valley and honeysuckle. Finally leather, vetiver, patchouli, amber, musk and tonka bean form a deep, shadowy base.

Long-lasting, it is a scent that rewards patience, shifting from light to dark over the day. It is at its best in winter, on cold evenings, at dinners and formal occasions. Wear it under a wool coat or with a dark suit, where the leather and tonka bean base can settle in.
