Rosemary leads, herbal and clear, giving the oil a bright edge at first. Spices soon move into the heart and warm everything around them, adding heat without sharpness. Patchouli forms the base, earthy and woody, and holds the blend close to the skin as it dries down slowly over the hours that follow.

Highly concentrated, it needs only a drop or two on the wrists or neck. Rated at eight to ten hours, it is best in autumn and winter, for evenings, dinners and special occasions. It also layers well: worn under a lighter scent, it adds depth and a spiced warmth beneath without taking over.
