About this fragrance
Heat comes first. Red chilli pepper and pink pepper flare up, while lavender and bergamot cool the edges a little. Soon the heart darkens: tobacco and oud sit at its centre, framed by cedarwood, with cherry adding a faint, shadowed sweetness. The base is dry rather than sugary, built from leather, patchouli and vetiver, earthy and rooted, holding the whole thing steady.
Rated at ten to twelve hours, it is a scent with real presence and no interest in being polite. Save it for autumn and winter, when the cold air lets the peppers and leather open properly. It belongs to evenings out, late dinners and occasions where you mean to be noticed, worn with dark wool and confidence.
