The first spray is herbal and lively, with oregano and pimento sharpened by bergamot. The heart grows warmer and more resinous as opoponax, incense, amber and labdanum take over. In the base it turns dark and smoky: agarwood and oud set the tone, leather adds texture, sandalwood smooths the edges and patchouli gives an earthy weight to the finish.

Strong in character yet well blended, it feels deep rather than harsh. Rated at eight to ten hours and suited to every season, it is casual enough for daytime but really comes into its own in the evening: nights out, events and occasions where a bold scent belongs. Use a light hand, as the oud and smoke carry well.
